A huge thank you to you and everyone else who contributed to the computer for the CAST Inner-City community centre at Addington Primary School.
Our inner-city projects are based at Addington Primary, from where we assist the poorest inner-city homes with basic food and clothing, we have a counselling centre, sports programme and after-school homework centre hat run from the premises of the school.
The school refers children to us who are struggling with emotional, behavioural or learning problems. The vast majority of these children are very poor homes. Our programmes also reach out to the homeless and other inner-city families who are in severe poverty.
As there was a recent break-in at the building, we decided to wait until the damaged burglar bars are replaced and a new alarm system has been installed before we move the computer in, this will obviously delay things a little bit, but hopefully it should all be finished in the next two weeks. Until then, the computer is being stored at our head office in Westville.
It would be great if you’d be able to come in and do the handover to the community workers when everything is ready, in which case I’ll give you a date soon. Alternatively we’ll send you the pictures and you can pass them on to the others with our thanks.
Looking forward to chatting soon.
Regards
Jean-Ray
