Yeah she tried saying they only pay in 10th of every month and the provider was late. When I pointed her mistake out she asked for account details. I will call her tomorrow asking where the money is.
A service provider se moer!
You have **** all to do with their arrangements. Your one was to timeosuly pay rent and return their property in good niche. You have upheld your end of the deal. The property has probably been re-rented out already so they should have that deposit!
Do not wait further than tomorrow midday to request your POP!!! R100 says they probably goign to try swindle you into waiting to collect march rents lol

Property agents...absolute scum, they will probably keep your deposit until you go down to their office and dish out some serious vloeking.
Good luck with that.
Anyway, since we have already established in a previous thread that property agents are absolute vuilgoed. I'd like to share my policy on the last months rent.
I simply dont pay rent for the last month of occupation and inform them to keep the deposit as the last months rent.
Obviously ensuring the property is in original condition ect.
Yes this is a breach in contract and also me being a total "C"- word...but works like a charm.
Because:
1) The agents are supa-slow with any work that does not earn them commission and will also be reluctant to incur legal fees to follow it through
2) Lawyers are hella expensive and would most likely cost more than its worth (ie more than your last months rent)
3) Lawyers are quite slow to react...by the time you would actually receive a letter from them in the usual fag lawyer speech "kindly bla bla bla, gay gay gay..." it would be 2 months later and you would have already vacated the place. At this time you should have also received your deposit back - the agents would obviously keep it - so straight you would owe nothing. Unless you ruined the place, then they could probably nail you for damages and whatever.
YES!
@ all the grand property agents out there

Original Poster I thought not paying last month rent can affect your credit record especially if it is going out as a debit order? Which is what most agents seem to insist on anyway!
If someone withholds last months rent, I load them on TPN right away, proceed with letter of demand and then blacklist. It's just as wrong as not refunding the deposit promptly. My tenants get quarterly interest statements for their deposits. If there are damages when they leave, it is deducted from their deposit and receipts must be supplied.
Write the company a letter of demand for your deposit and give them 7 days to respond. If you are lucky to have a contact in an attorney firm, have a lawyer do it for you. Unfortunately due process must be followed. If you start trying to beat them at their game, you will come up short.

Original Poster Found this article in my newsfeed that I thought might be relevant: How long for rental deposit refund? - Guest Experts, Advice
Interestingly, it seems there is a body to handle these things too according to the article: Housing Rental Tribunal
