You can get some ideas from almost the exact same system implemented at bodybuilding.com![]()
Hi
Okay so for our second year BSc I.T we must do any project. Some kind of gap in the industry. Me and my group have been thinking of a couple of ideas but I would like some input from you guys.
We are only second year and have some knowledge of java and C#. The program must include an input, database and some graphs.
My idea was like a gym program where you create a username and password and you log-in with it. Then you can select what your goal is and graphs will show you how much you have gained/lost. There will also be a gym program for the goal you selected.
Your input will be much appreciated.

I would suggest do some mobile dev if that is not your intention already. Android is easier to get started with - and you can use either c# or java. c# - see monodroid by xamarin. You can use SQLLite for droid as your db.
As for gaps in the market - this is a difficult one, don't overthink it. If there is already an app out there, it simply means that the idea is valid.
Can you C#? PM me !!
I would go chat to some NGO's. I did my 2nd year project for love life a long long time ago and they both loved and had a dire need for the system we gave them.
NGO's generally have some pretty basic needs however by fufilling them nicely you wind up with a system that actually get used A LOT in the real world as opposed to something that looks nice on your project sheet but doesn't actually prepare you for proper real world application
Thanks for the input guys. Will check it out.
