have a look at the wug kits, or ask on the wug forums
you might also be able to get away with an wireless access point in the other house to replicate/propagate the signal as you allready get signal there
Hi People
I need to know if its possible to get a good wireless signal in a different house say 30m - to 40m away?
I can get 100% signal at the front rooms of the opposite house(both levels), but nothing beyond that.
Both houses are two levels, but the top level of the house where the modem(Mega 300wr duo plus) is, is level with the ground floor of the house opposite.
Maybe try a different antenna?
Maybe a wireless receiver-booster of some kind?
Maybe a different modem?
Thanks

Simplest is to just get any wireless modem/router/access point that supports WDS. Put it in the second house at a location where it can pick up the signal from the first house, and it will basically act as a relay.
PS: The duoPlus300WR which a lot of people got free with the Telkom 3 month ADSL trial has WDS.

Original Poster Thanks. Will look for a modem with WDS.![]()

Or Wireless N, works with the wiring and stuff so should be a lot better as far as i can guess, but you'd need to have both on N
