Oh well, waste your money on an overrated PSU - it's not actually my problem![]()

According to the calculator i need a 827w psu
Running a hx650 and all is well.
I think it may be a bit overating things
also another thing id like to know, my dads b*****ng that the electricity bill is to high and hes blaming my computer. how expensive is it really to run a computer?
In the current configuration of my 2600K sandy, with 2 x wd blacks, 16 gb ram, Nvidia 210 graphics, no optical, I end up at 257W
If I l add a sata raid controller, and 6 x green hdds I end up @ 305 w
i need 634 watt
if i add another gtx 480 goes to 829![]()

With 100% load on all components (100% CPU TDP as well), 20% capacitor aging I get 628W, and I've never had an issue with my Vantec 550W. When going to the recommended 90% load, it drops to 570W. I totally get Oj0's point though, these calcs take into consideration if every single part of your system had to be utilized 100% what the power would be. Unless you're running Prime95, Furmark and a HDD bench utility simultaneously your power requirements won't reach that high at all. As proof check on Overclock.net, there's a guy in the SFF section that's running a GTX 580 with an i7 870 (I think, either that or a 2600K) off of a SFX 460W power supply with 0 problems. I'm not saying that's advisable, but you don't need kilowatt power supplies unless you've got some crazy **** in your rig, or you want complete silence, and thus don't want to stress the PSU at all.
