Headphones Recommendation

Hi all,

Looking for a new decent pair of headphones. Moving up from my trusty old Canyon. So anyway, I need them to be of the big kind, where your ears are almost completely inside the ear cans. Budget is R 800-850 at most.

Yes I know budget will mean compromise but I can't spend on Sennheiser, etc now...

So I looked around and I see Corsair Vengeance 1500. Anybody got experience with that?

Also, anyone know the brand Koss?

Roccat Kaves FTW! You can get them at under 800 if you look around

Not worth it. Save for Sennheiser PC360 at around R1,600 imported via cerberus.

Agreed , they are worth the price difference . Even if you want them for gaming , any good headphones paired with the Dolby headphone effect ( comes on most xonar cards ) makes for a pretty believable 3D sound stage.

Logitech g35 definitely out! Even tomshardwarw didn't like them much!

Sennheiser PC 360 seems to be rated lower than KRK 6400 and krk costs much less!

About the 3d effect, same stuff that these "5.1" headphones are on about and how they work?

Some of the 5.1 headphones do actually have multiple drivers , I think the Roccat Kaves do . But most of them , especially the usb ones , just use the same principle , fancy software to make it sound "3D" with just stereo drivers.
