    Re: Car audio help

Wow guys, thanks for the help. Unfortunatley the DLS speakers are out of my price range (as awesome as they are)

Am I on the right track with this:
Alpine CDE-100EUB Mp3 Front loader with USB
    Targa 2000w 4channel Amplifier
    Alpine 5" 250w Split System
    Alpine SPG-17CS 280w 6" Split System
    Pioneer TS-W259D4 10" DVC 1200w Subwoofer
    Box 10" Single Ported
    Evo Tuning 8gauge Wiring Kit

The 5' splits are for the front and the 6' splits are for the back. Now my question is, can I run the 2 sets of splits and the DVC sub off the amp? I don't mean wattage wise, wiring wise (its a 4 channel amp)?

Not sure about splits for the rear and you can get 6" mounts that'll expand the current speaker holes you have.

Heard limpets are the best for the rear but unless you have it setup right, rear speakers can destroy your perfect stereo sound.
Payntwagon explained that it was timing and so on between the front sound and rear that can mess it up.
Get the largest speakers you can for the front-it makes a difference with mid range bass.

I wouldn't worry about rear door splits to be honest. What car is it all going in?

Dont worry about the rears, the music is for the driver and that is it, rather spend more upfront. Looking at the price of those splits I would rather buy one very decent set.

wrt Dls, I heard the entry level splits(i think they around R800) in a tazz running off an HU(cant remember which one, either kenwood or alpine) and was blown away by the sound and value for money. That comes down to decent installation.

I have the entry level Classic K5 DLS splits and I'm happy but I damaged the one so I thought I would get the R5A if I won the lotto.

A very solid speaker for the money I am told.

Thanks for all the help everyone.
@Gumpertapolloss I will PM you soon.

    What are JBL splits like?
What I'm thinking of doing to start off with is splits in the doors and a good head unit. So these:
Alpine CDE-120R Mp3 Cd Front Loader
    JBL GTO508C 5” Split System
    JBL 6” 240w Split System
Or 2 sets of the 5" splits (depending on the size of the cavity in the back door).
Would it be blasphemy to run those splits directly off the head unit?

    Re: Car audio help

I have these splits got them brand new for R400
    link:GT5-650C 2way Component System - Autostyle Motorsport
I run them on my targa 2000watt 4channal amp and when I set the crossover to Full then run very good

My advice for you would be the following
For a head unit that alpine would be good
Front speakers a pair of JBL splits 6"
Back speakers a pair of JBL co-axle speakers 6"
run them on a 4channal amp 2000watt would be more than enough
then for subs I would get the sub that I have the xtc HQ 12.4 it puts out 500watt RMS and believe me and is a monster
then I would suggest A 5000watt or more MONO BLOCK amp for the sub
then for a box I would suggest an Single 12" Ported Super wood box and not a normal small box for that sub you would need a big box
For wiring A 4gauge 12V power cable for the sub will be great and 8guage for the speakers also great

that system will pack a mean punch and you will never be disappointed

Well those splits are 55w rms , your head unit will do maybe 15w RMS . So blasphemy no , but they will be very soft until you put in an amp . Dont know much about their splits , but they have some nice subs . And for the last time , please stop using autostyle . Look JBL GTO508C | Car Speakers | Car Sound | Rivonia Car Sound | Rivonia Car Sound and Security , thats R300 cheaper than autostyle.

Saw this as well CERWIN VEGA MOBILE SPECIAL PACK | Rivonia Car Sound and Security never personally heard a a cerwin vega but the name is a reputable brand. Or this http://www.rivoniacarsound.co.za/Fro...ing-audio.html

But you have the right idea choosing alpine and JBL , not the cheap crap.
