    / Sale - Logitech Z5500 speaker system

    Item: Logitech Z5500 speaker system
Age: 5 years (I've had them for 3 years)
    Warranty: nope
Packaging: nope, but will package nicely if shipping is needed
    Condition: excellent
Location: JHB central by day, Sandton at night
Reason: Wife is getting me a new home theatre system for our 1 year anniversary
Shipping: At buyers risk and cost, but the complete package is quite heavy!!!
    Collection: Definitely
Price: PM offers above R2500 or what you think is a reasonable offer...
Link: Logitech - Z-5500 Digital 5.1 Speaker System customer reviews - product reviews - read top consumer ratings

Been using these as our only home theatre system to watch movies. My wife has now decided it's time we get something that goes with the room decor (I still don't see anything wrong with the look of the Z5500 ), so it's time to let this go.

This is not urgent, as I can always keep them until I buy my own place and have my man cave setup , but would hate to keep these in storage when someone else can enjoy it.

It has never seen 100% volume, I think the highest it has ever gone to is about 60% as I've always lived in a complex since I got them 3 years ago and the rules don't allow loud noise.

This rules. Same set and wanted to sell it but just couldn't

Oh, btw... 100% isn't the true 100%. You go into a boost mode which goes from 1 - 10 Just keep pressing the volume up button lol... But I would not recommend going over boost 4 as MAX. Sub can handle it but the other speakers doesn't like it

@ reactor_sa: Yes, I bought them from a friend 3 years ago. Best purchase I ever made!!!

@ renvilo: Yes I know about those boost levels, but was too afraid to ever try it with anything playing, so one day I disconnected the surround speakers, and then turned the volume button up just to see if it works, I think it went up to Boost 10 (of silence since nothing was playing lol). I did try the 2nd skin etc though.

if it doesn't get sold then I will probably do this to the surround speakers and keep them until I get my own place:

Re: / Sale - Logitech Z5500 speaker system

Friend of mine at a new years party 3 years back connected 3 x Z5500 systems onto his pc for music.

he used a Sounblaster Xfi Platinum sound card with the front BAy connector , He connected 1 via optical 1 via the back and 1 via spdif .

As you can imagine it was pretty insane. 1500 RMS jamming music
